About

We have been called to serve the Kingdom of God in the Republic of Ireland. This has been a delightful surprise for us. It isn’t that we love all things Irish (we do like it a lot), or are descended from the Irish (we wish we were) or even that the idea of such a new place has called out to us (who doesn’t like novelty?). It’s just that there’s a need, we’ve been called, and we’ve answered. At our age (early 50′s) we were on a road leading to continued comfort and settledness. Through several trips to Ireland however, we met some wonderful brothers and sisters in the Lord and heard some amazing stories. We also began to feel embarrassed by the spiritual wealth we have here in America while our family in places like Ireland are so impoverished. We were given an idea of some of our talents and how God might use us for His Kingdom work in Ireland. And we were shown the seeds of a ministry to artists (hereafter called “creatives”) for their good and Ireland’s good.

With what energy and time we have left, and with whatever talents the Lord has given, we intend to serve Ireland and the arts community and the church by laying down our lives in service and example of what Jesus said: “As the Father sent me, so I am sending you.” John 20:21.

It’s so real after having been there with you! We’re SO glad we got to see where you are, meet some of the people in your lives, and feel in a small way that we have a picture of what you’re doing!

Ministry to “creatives” would have pleased Francis Schaeffer immensely. In them we find the three-way confluence of forward thinking, sensitivity about spiritual matters, and honesty toward the angst of our culture. We are so proud of what you are doing!

One of the things I find releasing is art. While I have no particular “skill” in painting, or music, or writing, it is a joy to just be real. To be honest with myself and all those who see or read it about my condition as a sinner, fallen but redeemed by the Lord. I think that is something many, if not all artists feel, the ability to be honest and real in their work. What a great opportunity for us as Christians to connect and share Christ, the one who defines reality. Thank you all for your ministry. We are praying for you and for the hearts of those He has for you to meet and share with!

I am a sophomore in high school and during this past semester we studied art. One of our big projects was to come up with a fake event that would help the community and promote the arts. The first thing I thought of was your ministry in Ireland. My event was a gathering for artists to share their work and the philosophy behind it. The ministry in Dublin emphasized to me how important it is for Christians to be a part of the art world and share the gospel through not only art, but also relationships with artists. Thank you for following God’s calling in doing this and not looking at art as something less than a God-given talent and ministry. We are praying for you!
